Imagine

I heard this John Lennon song today and it made me sit back and really think:

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky

Imagine all the people living living for the day

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
and no religion too

Imagine all the people living life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But, I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
and the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people sharing all the world

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one

What is happening to us that we have become so divided as a people? When are we going to stop judging people by the color of their skin, their sexual preferences or the God they worship and allow everyone to just live in their own personal greatness? When will stop pushing our kids to be things they don't want to be and start encouraging their dreams and realize their dreams are their greatness? When will be stop worrying about what someone else thinks and start doing what is right for us? When will we start accepting love instead of power and realize that the real power is love? I read in someone else's blog recently a heading that said "it's so simple, it's complicated" - how true it is! Smile at a stranger today, say hi to your neighbor just because you can, encourage someone's dreams, celebrate love in all forms. You may say I'm a dreams, but I'm not the only one. . . . .
