100th Post of 2008 - Remembering Summer

This is from a kayaking trip I took this summer. Bringing back a fond memory. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Just Goofing Around

I was just playing around photographing things in my home, and I liked the way this hanging sconce turned out. I actually didn't have the candle lit inside, but the camera flash makes it look like a candle is burning inside.

On The Moon

You know I care for you.
But, pretend and lead me on, that's all you do.
I try to still believe, but now I'm through.
And the only place I see is calling out to me.
It's the only place I know.
It's the place where I must go. . .

On the moon, that's where you'll find me soon.
I'll be alone again. . .
That's okay, I must be on my own again.
I'll be waiting on the moon for you.

I sit and reminisce for many hours.
I miss the rain and all the pretty flowers.
I dream of all the cities and their towers.
And I hope you wonder why I'm lying in the sky.
I'll even let you in for free If you come and visit me.

On the moon, that's where you'll find me soon.
I'll be alone again. . .
And all I'll do is lie there till I die there,
Waiting on the moon for you.

Would you ever even dream to go to the extreme?
And would you ever wanna be the one to rescue me?

On the moon, that's where you'll find me soon.
All alone again. . .
Unwinding there and praying that you'll find me there.
Waiting on the moon for you.
On the moon, that's where you'll find me soon.
And still your face will be haunting me.
So,if you're ever wanting me. . .

I'll be waiting on the moon for you

This is one of my very first photos I ever took and posted. I love this shot, so I thought I'd move it up to the front for those of you who don't go scrolling. I origanlly posted it on 9/22/08, but I'm voting it as my favorite photo I took in 2008. I'd love to know which one of my photos is your pick for 2008. Please leave your comments!! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

A New Year's Resolution

I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest asset or heaviest burden.
I will push you up to success or down to disappointment.
I am at your command.
Half the things you do might just as well be turned over to me,
For I can do them quickly, correctly, and profitably.
I am easily managed, just be firm with me.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine, though I work with the precision of a
machine and the intelligence of a person.
You can run me for profit, or you can run me for ruin.
Show me how you want it done. Educate me. Train me.
Lead me. Reward me.
And I will then...do it automatically.
I am your servant.
Who am I?

I am a habit.

-Author Unkonwn

This is my mantra for 2009

"Breaking a habit starts with courage,
ends with discipline,
and is fueled by desire".

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Written by a Man

LADIES, listen up!

Nothing can keep him away.
If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.
Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.
Allow your intuition/spirit/inner voice to save you from heartache.
Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that's not meant to be.
Slower is better.

Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.
If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve
then shit no, we can't "be friends."
A true friend, someone who's real, wouldn't mistreat a friend
.

Don't settle for less.
If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
Remember feminine energy is psychic energy. Men think logic. Women feel for answers.
It was a woman who ruled Egypt.
A woman's love can make a man change the world.
Women have magnetic energy. Men electric. Love is a short magnetic wave length.
Men do themselves injustice having sex with no pure love and affection.
They don't reach the inner cosmic way of enlightenment.
They are holding back certain electric energy and lose the real pure experience of a greater love...
Don't stay because you think "it will get better."
You'll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better - holding you back from your own personal achievements, dreams, goals and desires...
The only person you can control in a relationship is you.

Avoid men who have a bunch of children by a bunch of different women.
He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant, why would he treat you any differently? You cannot change a man's behavior. Change comes from within.

Always have your own set of friends separate from his.
Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you.
If something bothers you, speak up. Hold it back and you are holding a negative energy.
People die from cancer or have ulcers from holding negative ENERGY.
It's actual physical energy, which you don't realize, that can disrupt your own journey or destiny in life.
You should be possessed by love, not possess love.

Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later. Or throw it in your face. We all make mistakes.

Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are...even if he has
more education, a better job, lots of money and connections in this materialistic, egotistical world. He is still a man, nothing more nothing less. It's your own inner development and spirituality and heart that matters. And money can never buy that!!!!!!

A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you. Never let him define who you are. You should not be the one doing all the bending...compromise is a two-way street.

You need time to heal between relationships...there is nothing cute about
baggage... deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship

You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you...a relationship consists
of two WHOLE individuals...look for someone complimentary...not supplementary.
Dating is fun...even if he doesn't turn out to be Mr. Right. It's about human interaction. It's why we are here. To learn and love one another.

Make him miss you sometimes...when a man always know where you are, and your
always readily available to him- he takes it for granted.

Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need.
Keep him in your radar but get to know others.

Rethink your choices - prepare. Women have powers of attraction.
Why do you think, they have been oppressed for centuries???
You are more in a hyper dimensional sort of way. You have innate powers within.
While you wait for love, focus on you. The inner you.
You can travel the astral planes. Talk with animals. Levitate.
There is too much to you to be wasted on someone who takes away that focus of energy and hurts you.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate
them, a day to love them and an entire lifetime to forget them.

You Are Not Alone

Get hold of yourself.

The true measure of your ability to find peace
lies in your vision to discover that which troubles you.

When all else fails, take courage to scream for help.

Then trust that all the forces of the universe will join in the singing of your song,
only to remind you that you are not alone.

Robert Encila

Pain

Pain.
You just have to ride it out.
You can only hope it goes away on its own, hope the wound that caused it heals.
There are no solutions, no easy answers. . .

. . .you just breath deep and wait for it to subside.

I BELIEVE

I Believe...
That just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.

I Believe..
That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I Believe..
That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.

I Believe...
That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe...
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...
That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe...
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...
That my best friend and I, can do anything, or nothing and have the best time.

I Believe...
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe..
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others. Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe...
That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe...
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but, we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact samething and see something totally different.

I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.

I Believe...
That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

A Walk Along the Hudson at Dusk

1. I love the sea gulls on the stumps in this picture

2. I don't like the way I edited this one. I think I'll try this one again. . . yep, that's better!

3. I like this one. I'm not sure why, but I do.

4. I have this thing about tattered wood. I think it makes great pictures!

5. I thought the chain was cool.

6. These remind me of the fairy ride at Disney Land. The sky reminds me of cotton candy.

7. I like the contrast that I saw in this shot.

8. Again, I liked the sea gulls

9. I like the way the red stands out against all of the old rusty metals.

My wonderfully talented friend, Robert Encila, http://robert.encila.googlepages.com/home, taking a few moments to enjoy NYC and a cup of tea before heading off to do his final 2 performances at Birdland.

It's off to the wonderful world of jazz!

Break a leg, Robert!

Ah. . .the scent of candles

I love my candles. These were some of my Christmas presents I received.

A Day in New York

This is a picture of the windows at Birdland with famous jazz musicians and wire instruments. I love the way you can see the reflection of the buildings across the street.

This is just a typical few of looking up a New York street

I liked the design on this building.

I've always loved the entrance to this building. It's so old theater.

New York Theater

I've always loved the logo for this play.

This is such a fun building. I especially love the saying across the front of the building.

I recently saw this with Patti LuPone and was blown away!!
